Habida and Daniel Ebo tie the knot....

‘Sunshine’ singer Habida added –Ebo to her last name.

Habida Moloney-Ebo is what she is known as now after tying the knot last weekend with the tall dark and handsome Nigerian Daniel at a neat quiet ceremony in St Austin’s church.

The church service was conducted by Father Eamon, who congratulated the couple for making the most difficult promise in the world, the promise of love.

Wearing a brilliant white Segula dress that looked every bit of the 950 Pounds (sterling) it cost, you could see the radiance on Habida’s face as she stood next to Daniel and listened attentively to the Father before they exchanged vows.

Daniel sounded soft and romantic, while Habida’s voice seemed to quiver in excitement.

As a crying baby was whisked out of the church, Father Eamon wished the couple ‘long and happy years, and many more kids’.

The couple have been together on and off for roughly five years and have a six month old little girl, Michaela.

I didn’t see her at the grand union, but there were lots of friends and family (actually about 400) who were in attendance at the very well planned event.

Women from both Taita (courtesy of Habida’s mom) and Nigeria (courtesy of Daniel’s mom) sang to welcome the young couple to their wedding reception at the Hotel Intercontinental Ballroom, where singers Wahu and Nameless performed in between some of the best speeches I have ever heard.

For instance while using words formed from the letters that spell out Habida’s name, her father suggested that ‘D’ stood for ‘Delovely’ and then called Daniel their son. There was no pretence and an abundance of love and warmth in the air.

There was an army of waiters that served exquisite food to several whose who’s in attendance including Daniel’s own dad, a Chief from Nigeria, and even a couple of Sheikhs from the UAE.

It was a challenge to keep the high profile wedding out of the limelight, but somehow they managed and are currently honeymooning in Bangkok and Phuket.
